About Us

The Monticello Killer Whales (MKW) is part of the Clark (small team) division of the St. Charles County Summer Swim League.

Meets

We have 6 meets held on Monday nights: 3 are home (at the Monticello Estates pool at 285 Bluemont Ct.) and 3 are away (at competitor's nearby pools). View our schedule of meets on the Upcoming Events tab. If you'll be visiting Monticello for an away meet, please check out our Info for Guests.

Practices

Please view the sidebar for our up-to-date practice schedule. ➡️

Requirements

Athletes must be between the ages of 5-18 on June 1. New swimmers must be able to cross the pool safely without touching lane ropes, sides or pool bottom. Swimmer eligibility is at the discretion of the head coaches and parent board. Swim tests will be conducted for swimmers who have not yet demonstrated their ability to meet the requirement, about 2 weeks after practices start (June 8-9, 2026). If your child cannot safely complete this test by the deadline, they will not be able to continue with the team and a refund (minus the $30 resident / $40 non-resident fee) will be issued.

Registration

  • Registration for each swim season opens to returning MKW families at the beginning of April.
  • Registration for Monticello residents opens about 2 days later.
  • Registration for new, non-residents opens about 2 days after that.
  • Registration will automatically close upon reaching our capacity of 120 swimmers.

Please view the News page of this website for additional details as they become available.

Swimsuits dress code

For meets, MKW swimmers must wear a plain black, fitted family-friendly swimsuit or an embroidered black MKW team suit.

  • Girls: One piece black suits with a racerback or keyhole design to keep shoulder straps in place. No high leg/cut suits. View keyhole suit example and racerback suit example
  • Boys: Black jammers. View example
  • If you are interested in purchasing the team-branded suit, it may be purchased locally from B&B Aquatics. View ordering info for embroidered suits here.
  • Goggles are encouraged, swimming caps are optional.
