Volunteer Duties:
- This community swim team relies on the participation and support of its families. As part of the registration process, your family is required to sign up for volunteer duties. Volunteer duties are on a point system with each family responsible for completing 18 points. All families must work a total of 5 half meet duties (3 points each), 1 home meet extra duty (2 points), and 1 alternate duty (1 point), for a total of 18 points. Registration cannot be completed without signing up for your volunteer duties.
- A VOLUNTEER FEE of $250 will be collected upon failure to complete the required volunteer duties during the season. If your family does not fulfill their volunteer duties, you agree to pay a $250 buyout at the end of the swim season (July 30, 2024). There are NO exceptions. Families that do not honor their agreement to serve volunteer hours or pay the $250 buyout will not be welcomed back to compete in the future.
- STROKE JUDGES are desperately needed! The training is easily completed online and you have a poolside view to see your kid(s) swim. Never miss a race!
Thank you for volunteering so MKW has a successful season!
League, Board and Coaches:
MKW is part of the Clark (small team) division of the St. Charles County Summer Swim League. Click here to view our 2024 coaches and the changes to our volunteer parent board.
2024 Registration Fees:
- Resident Fee: $110 for first athlete and $90 for each additional family athlete
- Non-resident Fee: $140 for first athlete and $120 for each additional family athlete
Payment:
Registration payment may be made through Venmo or by check. This process avoids online processing fees. Your payment amount due will be calculated during the online registration process and you will get a registration email confirmation. If registration fees are not paid by May 15th, your family’s spot(s) will be forfeited and the next family on the waitlist will be accepted.
NO refunds will be issued after June 10th. If your child drops from the team or does not pass the swim test by June 7th, a refund will be issued, less an administrative fee of $25 for residents and $35 for non-residents.
Swimmer Eligibility:
New swimmers must be able to cross the pool safely without touching lane ropes, sides or pool bottom. Swimmer eligibility is at the discretion of the head coaches and parent board. Swim tests will be conducted Friday, June 7th for swimmers who have not yet demonstrated their ability to meet the requirement. If your child cannot safely complete this test by the deadline, they will not be able to continue with the team and a refund (minus the $25/$35 fee) will be issued.
Swimsuits:
For meets, MKW swimmers must wear a plain black suit or the embroidered black MKW team suit. If you are interested in purchasing the optional team-branded suit, it may be ordered from B&B Aquatics by using the instructions here.
Registration will automatically close when we reach our 125-athlete capacity for the 2024 Swim Season. If you have any questions, please email our volunteer parent swim board at [email protected].
Go Killer Whales!
